My Scrappy Mosaic Squares quilt is almost done! I just have to put on the borders and quilt it! I really don't think this picture does it justice. I'm just bursting at the seams with happiness for how this turned out.
Why do I love this quilt?
Well,
1. It's scrappy- beautiful and fun to look at. I could stare at it for hours.
2. Red, Blue, Yellow, White and Green- my favorites.
3. My sister and I have both been making the same quilt pattern. Her mosaic top is almost done too.
4. It's Scrappy- Cheap!
5. Lots of pieces. Yes, I love lots of piecing. I drive myself absolutely crazy most of the time. But in the end its what I love.
6. This was so fun to make because there were endless possibilites for patterns within the 7 x7 squares block.
I got the idea from Nanette (isn't hers just gorgeous?!) and found the pattern at the McCalls quilting website.
Today, as I was finishing, and then watching my sister lay her blocks out on the floor, we pointed out which block we'd exchanged. (I made one for her quilt and she made one for mine.)
As a regular quilt exchange participant, I thought how this block would be a very fun one for a block exchange. There is so much room for creativity with this pattern.

Lovely:) And what a great way to use up scraps.
I love it!!! What a wonderful scrap quilt! So cheery and even more fun that you and your Sis have been quilting along together!
I love scrappy quilts too! And, I love this quilt...I think the picture looks fantastic! I agree - this would be a fun one to exchange - and help me use up my scraps & stash. Maybe we can exchange it in the future???
This is really cute! I can't imagine working with all those tiny squares. Kudos!!
I personally stay out of exchanges. I shudder to thing of what people would say about my seam allowances! LOL!
Wow, that is amazing! Belated birthday wishes.
I love it! It looks so fun and happy!
I LOVE how your quilt looks...I was hoping to be able to click on the Mc Calls link you had and be able to download the pattern...sorry to say it didn't have a downloadable pattern. I'm wondering if I have that magazine somewhere....
I'm collecting polka dot fabrics and am hoping to use them in a quilt something like what you made...onto searching for the pattern :)

No wonder you love it. This quilt just sings, I loved all the versions you linked to. How old is the original quilt? I just love dots, stripes and checks too, I'll have to put this one down on my never ending lists of must dos!
Well done.
Cool quilt!! Come check out my finished quilt top. I signed your blog a little while ago and finally have finished the top. I'm so excited. What do you think??
woh, it's great!!!
Wow! Wow! I love it. You are so right! It would make a great exchange. All we would have to do is specify colors or something. I love the idea. And the pattern is free. I absolutely loved making this quilt. It is one of my favorites. I know I say that alot. But I made it for my bed so I could look at it all the time. It is timeless and classic. I so want to make one again! I will have to blog about this later this week when I catch up. Thanks so much for showing it. You are sweet to mention me.
Wow. You are a machine! You crank them out like nobody's business. I LOVE the look of this scrappy quilt. Scrappy is my favorite. I can't imagine how long all of those little squares took!
If this picture doesn't do it justice, than I need to see the real thing! Each of your quilts are so thought out. I love it.
